The National Coastal Convention 2025, convened by the Participatory Research & Action Network (PRAAN) with like-minded organisations, was held at the Bangladesh Military Museum in Dhaka on 13 and 14 December 2025.
The convention brought policymakers, civil society and grassroots groups together to co-create climate-resilient development strategies for Bangladesh's 19 coastal districts, document community-led adaptation and push for policy grounded in human rights.
For WAYDO, whose communities live with cyclones, salinity and displacement every year, it is a chance to make sure the voices of coastal women and young people shape national decisions.
